2:7 The son ¹  of Carmi:

Achan, ²  who brought the disaster on Israel when he stole what was devoted to God. ³

[2:7]  ² tc The Hebrew text has “Achar,” which means “disaster,” but a few medieval Hebrew mss read “Achan.” See Josh 7:1.

[4:43]  ⁴ tn Heb “and struck down the remnant that had escaped belonging to Amalek.”
